Syzygy played their hearts out in the heat of the 2018 Nationals in Mason, Ohio. We left the fields with big smiles, tired bodies, and the pure joy and excitement of being the 2018 Team Spirit Award Winners! We are proud to have played with love of the game, intense respect for our fellow competitors, and the highest level of spirit! S-Y-Z-Y-G-Y LOVE!
We had a great weekend at Queen City Tune Up in Charlotte NC. Syz had a great first day in beautiful sunshiney weather - and on grass!! However, day two brought a rainstorm, and games were cancelled past quarters. Syzygy went 5-0 on the weekend as the only undefeated team at the tournament. Our first game was filmed as well - check it out here. We can't wait to get back out there at Stanford next week!
Syzygy wrapped up their season at College Nationals in Mason, OH over Memorial Day Weekend. Pitted against the best teams in the country, Syzygy played with heart and pride and ended the weekend tied for 9th place. YYFY!
Syzygy competed against tough competition at North Central Regionals in Blaine, MN. Syz won the tournament, outscoring their opponents 84-16 over the course of the weekend, to secure the region's single bid to Nationals.
The team spent our spring break at a house in the Pacific NW hanging out and playing lots of frisbee! Getting pumped for the NW Challenge tournament in just a few days! Syz traveled to both coasts this winter to play at Queen City Tune Up in Charlotte, North Carolina and Presidents' Day Invite in San Diego, California. Both tournaments were a blast and the team ended with a combined 9-4 record heading into our final tournament of the winter, coming up at the end of March. Check out the photos below of our first two tournaments! (Photos courtesy of Erin Hull and Carol Ciaglo) Syzygy just wrapped up yet another fun fall season! Early in fall term we combined with Eclipse to compete at Exit 69, a local tournament that helped introduce a lot of new Carleton women to the sport of ultimate. Later in the term, Syzygy took a small squad to Eau Claire to play in the Eau Claire Chillout and placed second after a hard fought game against the Eau Claire alumni. Most importantly, we added eight rookies to our team! They are an extremely fun, hard working group of freshmen and we can't wait to play with them more in the upcoming season!
Syzygy went to Whidbey Island for a week full of playing frisbee, spending time with teammates, cooking, watching movies, and walking on the beach before heading to Seattle to compete at the Northwest Challenge.
We're super excited to welcome eight awesomely talented new rookies to the team.
